A Clever Farmer 聪明的农夫

黄大妈看不起农民，认为他们无知、只会种田。一个初冬的早晨，阳光明媚，黄大妈坐在门前的晒太阳。这时，一个农民手拿地图向她询问去医院怎么走。黄大妈不但不想告诉，反而捉弄他说如果你躺在街当中，你就会被送进院的。”这个农民不卑不亢地请她先示范一下，这下黄大妈无话可说，只得指给他路线，但她仍旧不甘心地嘲讽说我想你是第一次进城吧，城市比你那田地漂亮多了，是吧？”“是的，夫人，但城市是建在田地之上的。”黄大妈很惭愧。

Aunt Huang doesn't like farmers. She thinks they are foolish and only can do farm work.

One winter morning, the sun was shining. Aunt Huang saton thestep of her house, enjoyingthe warm

sunshine.At that moment, a farmer witha map in his hand came to her.

“Excuse me, Madam,” said the farmer. “Could you tell me how to get to the nearest hospital, please?”

Aunt Huang didn't want to tellhim the way,instead, she wanted to play a joke on him.

She turned to him and said, “ Lie down in the middle of the street and you'll soon be sent to a hospital.”

“Please set an example to me, then,” said the farmer.

She had to tell the way to him and then she said, “I think you've been in a city for the first time. It's much more beautiful than the field. Is that right?”

“Yes, Madam,” said the farmer with a smile. “But I think it is built on the field!”

Aunt Huang's face turned red.
